Born from the bachelor's thesis of Leon Birkel, a founder of the renowned esports platform OPL (https://www.opleague.pro/), BASTION represents a significant step towards ensuring integrity in the competitive gaming landscape.

Leon's journey began as a dedicated esports athlete, competing in major official tournaments like the Ubisoft Rainbow Six Siege Clash of Nations. Transitioning into the organizer role, he collaborated with Ubisoft to host esports tournaments, gaining invaluable insights into the challenges faced by both players and organizers.

Driven by his experiences, Leon assembled a team of skilled developers to build the OPL platform, aiming to streamline and enhance the esports experience for all stakeholders. BASTION, a product of his academic pursuits, is the latest addition to this mission, embodying his dedication to fostering a fair and trustworthy environment for competitive gaming.
